Approaching Tee Time at Harbor Shores

06/06/2009

Walking the shoreline of Lake Michigan at Jean Klock Park will now be easier for all visitors.  By mid-June, Harbor Shores will be completely finished with the new park entrance, new beach boulevard, and new road in Jean Klock Park, one of the five walk-to beaches from Harbor Shores.

Just a two years ago, Jack Nicklaus toured the Harbor Shores Golf Course site for the first time. With blueprints in hand, he crossed terrain of overgrown marshes, untamed woodlands, and old factories, detailing his plans for the new Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course along the Paw Paw riverbanks, wetland meadows, and dunes in Jean Klock Park.

Today, much of the golf course construction is finished and greens keepers are working hard to prepare for this summer’s sneak preview. Opening mid-July for Limited Preview Play with nine holes, the Golf Club at Harbor Shores encompasses the natural landscapes of Michigan.  The remaining 9 holes are scheduled to open in the Summer of 2010.

Beyond the golf course, construction also continues to progress with new infrastructure to the Fairways and Hideaway neighborhoods. As the reservation program comes to a close, our first families have already started choosing their homesites, and we hope to see construction start in late summer.
