The Golf Club at Harbor Shores — Now open for play

We’re proud to announce the opening of The Golf Club at Harbor Shores, featuring a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course. During our preview season, the Golf Club will be open for limited play as a beautiful nine-hole, par-35 course. The immaculate greens and rolling fairways can be played from 2,583 to 3,336 yards every Friday through Sunday, now though October 15.

On his recent visit to Harbor Shores, Jack Nicklaus designed three holes in Jean Klock Park that will offer picturesque views of Lake Michigan.  He was so enthralled with the golf course that he spent extra time (nearly two hours more than scheduled) touring each hole and, in his words, “tweaking” some of the finished holes.  Nicklaus commented, “That is going to be one heck of a golf course... It’s going to be something this area is proud of.”  In addition to liking the golf course, Nicklaus likes the vision driving Harbor Shores: ”This [property] is really a huge enabler to drive community transformation and economic growth - not only in Benton Harbor but throughout Southwestern Michigan.”

Ready for play by Spring 2010, the full 18-hole course will meander through native wetlands and natural sand dunes, with 10 holes gracing the banks of the Paw Paw River and the Ox Creek wetlands. Four holes will glide golfers over rolling hills, through ravines and a hardwood forest, and three holes fall in the dunes along stunning Lake Michigan. There’s a reason The Golf Club at Harbor Shores is destined to be a centerpiece for recreation and relaxation in the Midwest.
